When violence erupts in our communities or in our homes,
the first and most vital thing we can do is to
keep that violence from taking root in our own
minds, hearts, words, and actions.
To help keep us from joining in the violence that harms all of us—actor and receiver alike—we need down-to-earth, practical understanding and tools that actually work, both during times of crisis and in everyday life.
Because it's the accumulation of all these unrecognized, unhealed kinds of violence—not just physical harm—that's behind the worst acts of harm that are plaguing our communities and homes.

As a nation, as communities, and as individuals, few of us have ever known how to handle uncomfortable feelings, let alone harmful "problem" behavior in ourselves or other people.
(And let's be honest, every one of us has "completely lost it" and behaved really badly at least once in our lives—whether that's taken the form of fight, flight, appease, or freeze.)
Even more critical, few of us have ever learned how to truly resolve conflicts and genuinely repair the broken connections, distrust, and harm that we experience in everyday life.
This is why it's come to this.
Because if we were mending our everyday disconnections instead of sweeping them under the rug, if we were restoring and building trust each time it was broken, if we knew that we mattered -- that we were heard and respected -- we wouldn't be accumulating hurt that turns into harm.
We can no longer afford not to understand:
* Including everything from interfering or compulsive care (ICC), passive aggression, control, and reality denial, to physical injury.
When you understand what causes "problem" behavior in yourself and others—when you know what's really happening during fight, flight, appease, or freeze reactions—you gain the power to keep violence from taking root in your own mind, heart, words, and actions.
With down-to-earth, practical tools and understanding, you can not only prevent and calm reactivity, but truly resolve conflicts and genuinely repair the harm—building deeper connection, trust, and collective thriving.
This acclaimed workshop distills breakthrough findings from Neuroscience, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, and Nonviolent Communication (NVC) into powerful, practical, immediately usable tools.
Discover the neuroscience behind "crazy" behavior—why we all do it, what triggers fight, flight, appease, or freeze, and the response that actually works to interrupt the cycle.
Learn proven strategies to reduce how often reactivity gets triggered, plus powerful techniques to restore safety, calm, and choice right in the difficult moment.
Learn how to transform harm into even greater care, trust, and mutually honoring connection—turning crisis into catalyst for healing.
What creates "crazy" behavior (yes, we ALL do it) and how to reduce its frequency, intensity, and duration
The #1 sure-fire way to make things worse—and how to avoid it
The 6 different brain states we all experience, and what you can reasonably expect from yourself and others in each
Why we don't agree about "what happened" and how to deal with this effectively
When not to offer empathy or facts
How to restore safety, calm, and choice right in the difficult moment
Vika Miller is a conflict transformation specialist, leadership development consultant, cultural architect, and spiritual guide devoted to transforming the hurt we do to each other into healing, thriving, and healthy, fulfilling connection.
Her deepest devotion has always been to help create a world where we all genuinely thrive—claiming our personal and collective birthright to live in sustainable, attuned connection with each other and the Community of Life on Earth.
This Calling began early in her life. By age 6, she was deeply troubled by the everyday violence she witnessed at home and at school, and the pain it caused everyone. When she learned the scientific method at age 12, she recognized a tool she could use to finally discover what it takes to create genuinely happy, healthy relationships. That research yielded profoundly effective results—the Thrive Roadmap, which provides the transformational foundation for all her offerings.
Vika holds degrees in Psychology and Education (Carleton College) and Economic Development and Social Policy (Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota). Early in her career, she served as strategic planning consultant to the Minnesota Head Start Association (MHSA), and facilitated the resolution of a 13-year conflict between MHSA and the Minnesota Community Action Association. She has served as Vice President of Operations for a national behavioral health consulting firm; as partner in The Himmelman Consulting Group, a collaborative facilitation consulting firm; as partner in Rose City NVC, an NVC training organization; and as Executive Director of the Oregon Prison Project, which teaches NVC to residents of Oregon prisons and trains NVC facilitators.
Yet Vika's most important credentials come from walking the path herself—transforming her own experiences of harm into profound compassion, fierce boundaries, and genuine healing.
Vika has shared the Thrive Roadmap with people from all walks of life: C-suite executives and international leadership development consultants, therapists and psychologists, nonprofit organizations and intentional communities, romantic partners, parents and adult children, and residents of maximum-security prisons. Her organizational clients have included Airbnb and Regence Blue Shield.
The consensus from those who have experienced her offerings:
"Every person on the planet needs to know this stuff."
Now as Steward of Thriving World Community, Vika is devoted to bringing this peacemaking work to as many people as possible.
She invites you to join her—and to share this essential work with those in your life and community—to co-create a world where everyone thrives.
